ignition halo malfunction ?

Can someone tell me why my ignition halo stays on ? I parked the truck Friday, and haven't been into it since. Walked past the truck this evening and saw the halo WAS on...draining my battery. I remembered the timer was located above the brake pedal, and unplugged the solenoid timer thingy. Its removed for now, but do you have any ideas as to why it remained on ?
Is there an issue of not having the timer plugged in ? Tia

Probably not much help but my '95 CTD would do that sporadically. I never worried about it too much because the truck was driven daily and had 2 big batteries.

The timer is probably bad, it gets input from the door switch once the door is opened and then closed, then the thermal timer is supposed to timeout.
Amazing how such a small lamp can drain a battery in such a short time,
Some day I will replace mine with an LED to reduce the drain to almost zero.

If you unplug it, it just will not work, that's all.

Hey Jim, the biggest load is the thermal timer its self. Need to replace it with a solid state timer. Then, with an LED the load will be next to nothing.

What LED bulb replaces those small lamps? I have to fix mine for the glove box, I looked all over but couldn't find anything that small.

The only time the heater is energized is when the interior lights are on. I doubt the load would be significant.

Reliability, on the other hand, might make it worth it.

My wife just tried to start the D350 that hasn't run for a week or so. It didn't go. (at -6°) When I put the battery charger on it, I noticed the halo lamp was on.
