Idle high after turning up the fuel

So I have been tuning up the truck and this includes backing the smoke screw out 2 turns, giving the fuel screw a turn and a half in. Changed oil and filter, water/fuel filter, air filter. Pretty normal stuff. My idle is at 900- 1000 rpm. This is in park and in drive. I turned the low idle screw out to the point it's flush. Cant seem to get any adjustment. Any help is appreciated.

I've had this same problem recently - after making all the adjustments, the lever stop wouldn't reach the low idle screw anymore. It was due to the throttle rod being too short AND the rear lever hitting the linkage bracket low idle cam stop. If you're in the same situation, adjust/lenghthen the rod - loosen the adjusting jam nuts at both ends and turn the rod. If your lever still does not reach your low idle screw, try connecting the front end of the rod to the middle hole of the throttle lever.

I will give it a shot. Sounds like it could do the trick.

Tired pushing the throttle lever fwr. popped the rod off the lever and pushed on it. No adjustment to the ldle happened. Idle still at 900-1000 in park goes to 900 in drive...is there any where else to check? Thanx
