I think I've got had

Bought this 92 D-350 regular cab. Was hit in left front & shoved the frame back 2" & put a twist in it. It been pulled straight thanks to a local auto collision shop, not to piece it back together. Got a fender, inner fender, front gravel shield (piece between the Grille & bumper), grill, & radiator has been fixed. Its going back together slowly. Couple things that I have a question about. For some stranger reason the power windows don"t want to go up & down, they worked before. The fuse is good, got power to the switch, power when I rock the switch back & forth, & power on the plug inside the door. don't understand y it is not working. It will will however work if I take 2 leads off a battery. Any thoughts? There is much more to list what is wrong with this, it will be continued as each problem is encountered.

Also, what thread is the fan, water pump, & fan clutch?

Power window problem has to be something simple like a bad wire in the harness going from the door jamb to the door.

The big nut that holds the fan clutch to the fan support hub is reverse thread.

Water pump is the little pulley down low on the passenger side.

Check the harness in the door jamb. Probably a bunch of broken wire in there...... One of them is probably opening up under a load. (when you push the switch)

Your switch should be switching the HOT and Ground (both) back and forth.

So, if you are just checking for the HOT, then you are not doing the test correctly.

I suspect that there is not a problem in the door jamb, because there is power to the switch on the door. I took the cover off the switch, I have 8 wires going into the switch. 2 are ground, 2 are hot all the time, 4 become hot when the switch is moved. I can supply a picture & show what is what. I have power coming out the the switch when one of he switches is depressed. So, there is power going to the plug that is supplying the motor. Let me say this also, the left fender & inner fender are off the truck. Could that have anything to do with a relay that must be grounded?

Without those fenders I'm surprised you are getting a ground.
