I really hate AAMCO

So I am going to rant I just got my truck back 1 1/2 weeks ago from AAMCO and guess what.... That's right trans is DEAD. I had to walk a few miles home to call and have hem tow it. 2nd trans they built for it since October. Great work they do let me tell you. Here's a link to my last post about it https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=283218 and I want to go freaking postal. And to prove they are handicapped when I last picked up the truck they had unplugged my crank sensor and had my tps adjusted wrong and hooked up instead of my potentiometer so the truck was acting like it wasn't charging and also seemed like I had it floored and had to use the pull cable to shut it down and pull over to stop. I HATE AAMCO. I REALLY DO.

Maybe try to find a different aamco to honor their warranty and get away from the bone heads you are dealing with now.

I was told the one a couple towns over was good to deal with and think I might try that. Maybe buy another converter like a goerend or suncoast and have them put that in since theirs can't hold up to my truck apparently. Haven't even towed with their trans or beat on it and it gave out twice now so I think I'd be to nervous driving it again with theirs again.

It really burns when a shop takes advantage of ones good nature like this happened to Me already too many times, which is why I frequent this forums so much for so many years now. Also is the one reason I don't have automatics on My trucks yet or else I would have to rely on someone like them, once I learn how to do autos (at least the ones I own) I will have them on some of my trucks.
Sorry to see You in pain bc of this.

I would see if you can talk to a district manager of some sorts. I hate AAMCO, they screwed me big time on my first rebuild. Like charging me for all new OEM cooler lines (forget the exact figure, almost $400), instead they installed heater hose hose clamped over my stock lines they flared with a screwdriver. See if you can get some of your money back, invest it in a real shop that isn't a franchise run by former McDonald's managers and worked on by just-over-minimum-wage workers. 727's and 518's aren't rocket science and should be very reliable unless they're beat to death, even so you should get at least 50k miles out of it. I'd rather have a local that's been doing it for 30 years screw it up then AAMCO. Good luck.

You've got to be kidding me... How can these places continue to steal money from people? Does your town have a local BBB (better Business Bureau) ? File a complaint with them. I've had luck going this route. No business likes bad publicity.

Around here BBB is as useful as an airplane horn, called them years ago when I didn't know how and had a shop put a rebuilt jasper engine on My truck, engine wasn't performing as it should so I asked them to work on it and even they bought the engine from jasper (not Me) the answer was we installed it 'properly' so You call jasper after a almost $7k bill if they don't belong to BBB they will have a laugh when You threat them to call BBB. That was the very last time I ever used a shop to do work on one of My vehicles, now I don't even drive to a tire shop, I buy the tires and have them balance them then install them Myself. Never again.
