I have to hand out walking papers to an employee today. I found out he sabatoged some of my electrical parts I'm shipping to my trade show today bound for Chicago. <br> I just don't understand some people. The worst part is his mother is the floor supervisor of my fabrication dept.

 

I know how you feel. Just make sure you are right and don't back down if you are. I had the same situation where an employee was sabotaging equipment to get out of working weekends. It took another employee to finally confirm what had been suspected, but couldn't be proven. When confronted about the sabotage, he fessed up and was terminated immediately. Did I feel bad? For about a minute. Then I really got POd because of the stress, aggrevation and downtime I had to endure because of his actions. Things are much better since he was fired. Trust is back, overtime (making up for lost weekends) is down, and repairs are more in line with normal failure rates rather than the &quot;weekend only&quot; failures we were getting. I'm sure his mom will understand.

 

I know the feeling, I worked as a construction super a few years back and went by one of the job sites on a friday afternoon.<br> Had 6 guys painting and when I saw the amount of paint left I told them they could leave as soon as they ran out. I figured that would give them a free hour.<br> Monday I discover they hastily dug an inadequate hole and poured it all out &gt;<br>Geez you can't be nice to some people.<br><br>No gonzo! When I say get take care of that leftover c-4 I don't mean set it off!

 

We have people walking around with loaded guns that may very well shoot you if caught doing stuff like that.
