I have a shaken problem help !!!
Hey guys I have a bad shake in my truck that I can,t figer out. You can only feel it in the seat only not in the stearing wheel
. So I know its in the rear some wear I think I have had the drive shaft redone and I put in a new carer bearing new trans mounts. Had all of the wheels checked and tires I'm trying to fined it but have had on luck
. I fixing to replace the virbration dampener because the engine shakes bad when wide open at a dead stop but I dont think this is my problem. The dampener has been on the truck for 400 000 miles it's time for replacement. Guys I'm going nuts
I have any of you had this problem with your 1 gen? Give me your sugestions Thanks
You don't say if the shaking is at idle while stopped or when driving...or did I miss that part...I'm getting old you know....

pb..
ps: LEAVE THE VB DAMPER ALONE FOR NOW...!!!!!
It is almost always a low idle issue. Set idle at 750-775 in "D" with AC on Max...that will leave enough idle to keep the ole girl smooth....

I'm assuming you get this shake at highway speeds. Kinda comes and goes in waves? And yes, you only feel it in the seat of your pants, not in the wheel.
Best I can figure, it's harmonics. I spent 250,000 miles figuring this one out...
Your motor mounts - they sit in a slot that allows for some adjustment. Take note of where in the slot they are currently riding (generally they're off to one side or the other). Loosen the bolts on the mounts - place a 2x4 under the oil pan, with a jack on either side of it - use the jacks to "twist" the motor to shift the mounts to the other end of the slot. Tighten the bolts, and let 'er off the jacks.
By altering the location of where the motor is riding in the frame, the harmonics that course through your frame while running down the road should be reduced or eliminated.
Good luck, and let us know how it works!

Blue OX are u sure? My truck only has one slought on the drivers side frame. The other side is just a hole I though the slought was for easer location when puting in the engine. I really don't what differents this could make don't get me wrong Iam great full for the help. I have'NT tryed this one yet. I will soon I would put in a new strearing wheel if it would get rid of that bad shake. It is just like u said it comes an goes an it's just in the seat and its getting worse.
Thanks

I had a similar vibration. I carry a partial gallon of windshield washer antifreeze behind the seat and the antifreeze would rattle in the container. It would come and go at different road speeds. Turned out to be a tire problem - ply separation causing the tire to go into an "out of round situation."
I had a simmler one as well, drove me nuts. Turned out to be some cheap aftermarket rims I had, They balanced out fine bet shook at highway speed. I changed to a different rim( same tires) problem gone. Now its back though, this time it is the tires though, **** super swampers!!
