Can I use the same fleetguard filters in my 93 as I use in my 98 1/2 24V?

I don't believe they are the same, if I recall correctly my Cummins dealer has a little chart with the part #s and the corresponding year of truck and the 24V's and the 1st gen filters are different.

That brought up a bigger question.
I didn't realize that the 1st gen's and the 94 to 98 12Valves were considered "different". SO, am I looking for a totally different filter for my 12V because it's pre 1994, or are they all the same until you get to 24 valve

I do believe that the 1st gen filters and 2nd gen 12V filters are different. I do know that even the 93' filters are different versus the 91 or 92 since on the little reference sheet the 93' has its own numbers for the filters.

All Fleetguard Filters for our trucks are all the same thread and base pattern. The only difference is the 3rd Gen filters have a fluted bottom and can be removed from the bottom of the truck. I use Fleetguards Stratapore filter P/N LF16035 but I still have some of the old P/N LF3894 which is also a Stratapore. As I said the only difference is in the fluted bottom.

Bob

I just did a quick check on the 6.7 and it also uses the same filters.

The 24 valve filters have a stronger (mechanically) filter media. It's fine to use a 24 valve filter on an older truck.
