Talking Walked a Dmax

Mods, move this if necessary but.....

!! !! A fella I work with picked up an 03 GMC Dmax/Ally about a month or so ago. It`s stock xcept for a BIG$$$ Bank$ intake. We were leaving work yesterday and I figgered I blow a little soot his way so we both stood on it. I walked him by a couple of lengths and this morning he was saying he could`nt pull up to me . Then he goes on to bust me stones saying now he`s gotta spend more $$$ to level the playing feild. He`s BIG into drag racing so I guess being the first loser just don`t cut it for him . He was very impressed at how the old girl pulled away and I added a little salt by reminding him that my truck "ONLY" has 185K on the clock.....did I mention that I LOVE my cluncky old 1st Gen?

add a PPE tuner to that Dmax and a strait pipe, he will be in the low 13's to high 12's. It doesnt take much for a Dmax to put up big numbers.

Duramax was quick.

A Duramax pulled up to an intersection today and proceeded to stomp on it when the light turned green. Not a puff of smoke and that thing flew. Those things seem worthless offroad but they sure move on the street. he was running 285's on stock rims. Everything else seemed stock.

And then good bye trans.... Duratrashes are quick. No doubt about that. My uncle has 3 all with bullydog programmers. Super nice pickups and a good engine. I just like the ability to turn screws and know exactly what my injectors and timing etc is doing. It's also nice to not have to pay 100's of $$ to get more performance. Pros and cons of each..... Long live torque

My brother has an 03 Duramax with a Hypertech(cheapo) and a K&N, but he can't hang with me from a rolling start.

Mid 13's if you are lucky. Most likely high 13's And the transmission will be gone quick. 12's takes a little more than tuning.

I dont know about ya'll but I dont like a heavy truck with independent front suspension,It just seems wrong.I dig my leaf springs I bought a truck I want it to ride like one.Oh yeah ,and I like the idea of a big AMERICAN diesel.

This is the very reason why I chose to buy my 93'...........

Straight axle, no IFS

Leaf Springs, no goofy coils, A arms, or 4-link stuff

I like "loud" sounding diesel engines......Cummins has made a name for itself in the heavy truck/equipment world.

Totally workable and the "inline" design is much more effiecent than the "V" stuff.

My dads truck is just like that. 05 LLY-the LLY is super quick! Ive been driving it while my truck is down, and man it will haul, and it has NO mods to engine exhaust or intake...bone stock. It fairs well offroad also. Im afraid itd still beat my truck. No one shoot me for talking it up now alright?

Oh I know , I got smoked pretty good by some stranger a while ago. All I know is it was making a lot of smoke and it was gone . It`s fun watching the guy I work with slide ever sooo slowly down the slope ...."I`m gonna keep it stock". If the guy`s 65 big block Belaire is any clue, it`ll be going pretty good ....SOON .

Nice kill Chris.

For work, I drive a Stock/OEM 2005 Silverado 3500 LLY/Ally 4WD Chassis W/T with the typical Knapheide tool box/bed. Sweet truck! Rides VERY nice.

I'm loaded pretty heavy with all the refrigerant tanks and such but my neighbors kid can walk me to the 60' mark with his bicycle.
It's gotta be the engine management as there's no smoke at all. Once it initially gets moving, that boy squats and gits!
