yeah not a good thing

im looking around for a rebuild kit and i saw the link for how to rebuild it, cant be too bad- if you know of a good rebuild kit please let me know

I don't think rebuild kits cost that much. Would a Turbo have to be balanced after being rebuilt?

i got a rebuild holset rebuild kit off ebay. 45$. worked great, mark compressor wheel on shaft so it goes together the same. was qiute easy.

Yes you should get it balanced, but thats a debate

oilcan has to have a diesel performance shop or turbo place near him.

none that i know of? wouldn't it be like putting on a 60mm upgrade (meaning) no one balances it, just re-assemble and mark the shaft like crewcabxlt said- and the first link i posted showed a fella rebuilding one

I believe the wheels are the only part that varies in the balance, sooo... if you mark it before disassembly and reassemble it axially identically (yaaaay - I got to use the axially word!!) it should be good to go.

That's just my belief, BTW.

I agree, I have rebuilt a few turbos on gasser applications and this is what i did without issues.
