What exactly are you calling "drive train"?

 

Engine and trans?? or just trans.

gota think about that drives side drop, if it's 4x4

 

It will work, with some rewiring and some other things. I've seen two done, one was p-pumped the other was left VP44.

 

iv got a Engine and a 6 speed trans out of my 2001 24 valve...the 93 was a manual and a 4x4...

 

Thatd be a cool swap but i'd never put such a troublesome engine in a easy to work on 1st gen. Maybe if you put a Ppump on it i'd go for it....

i would imagine thats a wiring nightmare. the whole swap but anything is doable, in DP magazine a few years ago a guy put an 04 drivetrain and engine in his 90 D250

i mean nothing is "already there" .. you'd be rewiring everything but hey.

what are you waiting for?? get on it! ... you'd have to use the NP205 from the 1st gen, the transfercase from the 01 won't work. wrong side drop.

 

Go for it... Personally. Dump the VP and P pump it...
