How are my a/c lines suppose to run? 91.5

Guys,

I'm trying to work on my first chrysler a/c system. I'm guessing my hose leakage is because both hoses are firmly against the frame rails. Is there suppose to be a spacer, tie , ? something to keep them from rubbing. They are cut- at least the outer layer.

Maybe they just need to be clocked a bit on re-installation on the compressor? Maybe the motor mounts have collapsed and bring everything down an inch and rub??

Let me know!

What size are the shrader valve a/c fittings-not 1/4 NPT

I've got some GM fittings adaptors...

I thought they only messed with the high-side diameter. Low side appears to be smaller. Let me know- got to get some tomorrow.

The high side is smaller. The low side is standard 1/4. I ran into that issue when I was messing with it a year ago checking out the A/C. if you find an adapter let me know I have been looking for a while with no luck. I can take some pics when my is all finished up. I ordered new lines from dodge. If you need a hand with the P/Ns let me know. They had more than one line Avaliable so I had to order them all and figure out which one fits. Ofcourse not returnable. There is one line avaliable aftermarket from what i found and it doesn't fit mine.

Great no one knows about where to get the adapter tools...

Yea, if you have part numbers- that would be great. I think there is some clearance issues.. could you post some pics around the frame rails?

I'm guessing it's motor mounts colapsing with age, and now it rubs.

Oh,

high side is smaller- I see GM made one 3/16 and also 1/8, so I was hoping one would fit. Low side is bigger and has a collar before the threads-so the valve is sunk into it. Maybe that is a R134a adaptor? Really tempted to have standard 1/4 fittings welded on at the hose place.

That sounds like a 134 adapter fitting.

yea,

That's a R134a adapter- yuck! Only on the low side... bet they added a little ester oil and topped up the system. I was worried-real worried about corrosion. I've friends whom have found the internals white and replaced both coils also.
Got the condenser coil on the bench and it is clean.

Now I just have to worry about getting the new lines routed well. On line, the wholesale cost on factory replacement lines is $45 & 55. So for a $100 - I can just get the factory stuff. Might be a better option in the long run.

I'll flush the coils well and re-assemble it. Where is the low pressure switch? I don't see it? Is the cycling valve function as both -high and low pressure switch?

The LP switch is the one screwed into the expansion valve on the firewall.
