how much boost?

just got done putting in a tripple gauge pillar and thought the boost was a little low. only made 16-17lb pulling big hill with foot on floor. Have max fuel turmed 2 turns, daiphran 120*, star wheel 3/4 turn CW and fuel screw cranked down. Dont these trucks make 14-15 stock? I drilled and tapped into IC line just before intake manifold

That sounds about normal for stock injectors and a stock turbine housing. A '92 is lucky to make 12 psi stock.

Unless you want to spend a lot of extra on a bigger turbo, 190's are about as big as you can go in a tow rig.

Yeah, 14-16 stock is about right. If you make 12psi stock, even with a Lagmaster, you have fuelling issues.

Get a fuel pressure gauge, and go to town turning the fuel screw. Lack of fuel pressure & volume is what kills the VE, not fuel output as some would tell you. I towed 22-25K a lot with a 93 with stock injectors and turbo. Made 25-28psi boost, with about 900deg post turbo EGT. Never had any issues with power from central KS to ColoSprings.

Also, check injectors, valves, and lift pump output.

i do believe you can go 3 turns on the main fuel and you could grind your fuel pin down and i bottomed my star wheel down and came back about 1 full turn back and my smoke screw is turned all the way down

mine runs cooler egts down the free way and less boost at cruise but i havn't hooked up my trailer yet. i would think that it would stay close to the same (unless your really smokeing all the time) when towing sence it doesn't have to work as hard to get the same power as before. imo
