How hot does your getrag get, and with how much oil? Need to know numbers asap! Thanks!!!

 

Have observed well over 250* with 5 quarts synthetic 5-30 running 65-70 in 5th, about 13k gcvw.

Well AAA towed my truck once and the 360 got so hot it burnt the oil off of the outside of the case. It was smoking. That ruined the tranny and the tow company had to buy me another.
They left the transfer case in gear.

 

Wow I would have never thought that it would do that. Not the info that I was looking for, but thanks for that!

 

When I had my Fast cooler attached to the side and running 7 quarts of 5w-30 Mobil 1, it would hang around 140-150* running solo.

 

I may have to make a cooler to add some capacity!
