Question Does the "cat" get hot?

Does the cat on these trucks get hot like it does on the gassers? I have always removed the cats on our gas trucks to prevent starting fires in the hills. Do I have to worry about this with the new truck? Thanks.

not sure if it gets hot or not but after my kitty and muff ran away i saw an increase in fuel mileage and it felt more responsive to me.
