How does the M&H Timing Spacer work??
Would doing this be good for towing? Also I've read that when you advance your static timing it gives false egt readings. Would this have the same effect on your egt readings? I'm mainly thinking about towing.
Thanks

Yes and no. i would have to say it would give you a true lower EGT reading. The problem is that youre letting the fuel burn longer in the cylinder/piston so the heat is left in there and not let out of the exhaust. I think it would be good for towing because youd get a more efficient burn and make more power but you would want to watch your water temps and if they started to change when you were towing up steep grades. that would tell you that your cylinder temps are getting hot.
"One of are tucks has ben runing a Dynamic timing for quite a while know with no trouble.
We just in stalled a Dynamic timing on a truck on saturday and he had 35" tiers and auto trans . He came back from a test drive with A big smile.
Let us know if we can help more."
BTW I plan on going with one of these and my truck doesn't do much more the tow. Hope this helps.

i just ordered me one!!
after hearing all the good things about it here and over on dieselbombers, i'm anxious to see how it'll perform for me. i'd much prefer to keep the static timing stock giving me the low end grunt these VE's have and getting better top end timing from the spacer. thanks thomas!

send an email to mandhinc@qwestoffice.net and say you want one. they will send you a paypal payment request and once you pay they will send you one.
no one has been able to help me convert the extra MM in travel to timing in degress, but you go from 2.0mm of dynamic timing travel to 6.4mm.
This thread may or may not answer your ? https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...timing+degrees
From what I've read, a tooth is equivalent to an 1/8". 72 teeth on the pump gear, so 1/8" = 10°. I just checked online and 2.4mm = 1/8", (well, not EXACTLY but pretty darned close.) Therefore, 2.4mm = 10° timing. Confused yet?!

Ok, let me condense 'cause this is getting hard to follow.

Your dynamic timing device is going to give users from 8* at 2mm to 27* at 6.4mm advance. (please note: numbers are rounded out.)

If you want/need more than that, you can push your pump as far as you want to the head, with every 1/8" / 2.4mm giving you another 10*.
