There's a bunch of Phillips screws facing the floor. Including inside the ash tray and then pull the spring clips out. If you have tilt steering the wheel will have to be down. Just be careful so you don't break or scratch anything

Another tip... If you have a non-tilt wheel, loosen the column mount nuts until they're flush with the studs and let the column drop about 2". You'll find them directly above the fuse box and will require a 7/16" or 11mm socket. Makes removing the insert far easier than wrestling with and tweaking (possibly breaking) it.

Also, remove the map light above the message center. From there, it's just like gyman described, all philips head screws along the top and one right in front of and above the radio. You'll need a fairly short or stubby screwdriver to get at a screw that is almost directly above the steering column. No screws near the ash tray in my truck.

Unhappy

According to numerous old threads, removal of the windshield is almost a necessity. There are apparently 6 screws tucked under the weatherstripping that hold the dash in place:

Two 14 year old girls can remove it very quick.

Let them have the truck to check the fencing unattended.

They got mine airborn and it came right off on impact.

LOL, I had to go find them after they were gone too long. To scared to bring the truck back like that.

BTW, it has been like that for 2 years now and not having the dash on the truck does not effect it's operation.
