How to convert a 92 from auto too 5 sp
Hey Guy's how or what is envolved on converting a 92 from auto too 5 sp I have a complete truck available for part's all hydro's bell housing and trans n transfer case but what has to be done to fire wall to make thing's work ? or can you get away with just bolting the clutch pedal in and go from there? No it;s not for my truck but a buddy's that is buying all my 5 sp stuff I have . Anybody have any pictures or a place I can look through to get a Idea what has to be done ? The dash is coming out and so is windshield so that part is simple . Got any Advise ?

Ok but what about fire wall modification's what need's to be done there ? I have the basic's down just need to know what need's to be done and how hard it is too do On the firewall .I know you have to move the wiring bulkhead over along with adding the part for clutch hydraulic's
Unless the truck is pre 89 you shouldn't have to move the wiring. There should be a round rubber grommet next tot he wiring bulkhead. Remove the grommet and install the slave cylinder reservoir and hook to the clutch pedal.
Here's a pic of the little master cylinder for the clutch cylinder on the crewcab....you can see the round cylinder going through the firewall next to the wiring, and the little reservoir mounted up on the cowl.

There is also a little bracket you will have to mount for the hydros to lock into, you can drill the holes with a right angle head. The clutch and brake pedal will bolt right in

Yep I have a front drive line that will fit but rear will have to be built but I have a good shop that build's them I am going to be swapping steering column and pedal's how about center hump just cut n weld it back into truck ?
SHould be the same hump....maybe. Seems to be a lot of controversy over big vs small tranny humps. Some say auto truck were smaller, some say they are the same...don't really know for sure.
Take some measurements, and if they are the same cut a hole for the shifter and your done.

STANDARD CAB 2wd autos will have the low, curved floor hump, ALL others in the 1989-1993 era will have the taller, wider hump.
FYI, the bulkhead electrical plug location was revised in 1988, to allow for the hydraulic master cylinder.
Mark.
