High Mile Hall of Fame

Hopefully this thread takes off. This is not "my thread" -- any ideas, thoughts and proposals are welcome.

As the title states, high mile trucks. What's high miles or km's? For now, let's set it at....

500k miles or
800k kilometers

1 mile = 1.609344 kilometers
1 kilometer = .621371192 miles

Pics of the truck and odometer hopefully. The more pics the better. Pics of the engine compartment, bailing wire, rust, interior, undercarriage, all of it. A truck sitting in a corn field, any truck. Any history of the truck, maintenance, repairs, what it has for drivetrain, etc. Anything related to the cummins legendary longevity and how to make them do it, or how it was done.

Might take a while for this thread to build if it does. Maybe we will get some pics and info of that elusive 'million miler' or '1.6 million km'er'. Let's see what we can come up with. Thanks.
--------------------
What we have as of 11/2/11

Those that are able to bring interesting information to this thread might be interested in the Cummins high mileage club:

Lol, a high mileage club that starts at 100,000 miles? They are making it easy for everyone.

Kinda neat though for those with alot of miles racked up.

hey-Hey!!!
Mercedes used to sell( perhaps they still do ) little grill badges at every 100km interval. I'm thinking I'll do it with a stencil of '100k' and spray paint on another one everytime I pass one. Sort of like the B17 crews did for every mission with a bomb icon on the fuselage...
cheers
Douglas

Nice!! You are the first legit customer at this thread. We are all seated around the fire waiting for more info, truck stories (good or bad endings are fine), secret to that kind of mileage longevity, repair history, anything worth mentioning about the ownership history you can provide, etc.

Ever tab the KDP or has it stayed in there on its own for 700K miles? Even with no towing, it is amazing the trans went 600k. How often have you been adjusting the valves over 700k miles? Since you did not do any towing for over a half million miles, were you just using it as a daily driver over long commute distances? At its current mileage are you finding it uses some oil or is down on power since earlier in its life?

Miles or km? Either way, wow!

Too bad these trucks are so well known for broken odometers, I'd like to know what mine actually has I'd guess mine has 250-350k miles, so "well" broke-in...
