Don't forget the value of these old Dodge trucks. I've had and driven the snot out of the Ford 7.3's. When I was in the market for a truck a couple years ago it was going to be one or the other, the Ford 7.3 PS or a 91.5' - 93' Cummins. I had already owned a 95' F250 7.3 PS. Paid $14,500 and sold it for 10k to a dealership a couple years later. Lost $4.5k on it.
This old Dodge? Paid $5.5k and I feel like I could sell if for $10k within 24 hours. I'm getting a return on the money spent on it should I ever sell it. The Dodge is going up in value, the 7.3's are declining or stagnant in value near as I can tell.

This is a very valid and important distinction. The cost of miles driven and resale market/demand. A quick review of trucks for sale on Craigslist and Ebay support that trend. A good reminder that you must consider the full package. When the HEUI 7.3 motors get up in miles and wear components eventually need to be replaced, the cost of maintenance increases greatly over the cummins 12v trucks. If you price out 7.3 turbos, injectors, etc...there is a significantly higher cost to keep them on the road long term. Not to mention shop labor for those not doing the maintenance themself. There is a lot of labor time and cost in replacing 8 under the valve cover injectors with 7 fuel/oil orings per injector. Not to mention the HEUI injector cups themselves sometimes need replacement.
Always a day late, and a dollar short.

Mercedes used to sell( perhaps they still do ) little grill badges at every 100km interval. I'm thinking I'll do it with a stencil of '100k' and spray paint on another one everytime I pass one. Sort of like the B17 crews did for every mission with a bomb icon on the fuselage...

Was used to deliver RV (Airstream I believe) trailers for most of it's life. Had a Class V hitch, full heavy gauge battery cables ran to the back, but no 5th wheel or anything mounted in the bed. Original engine, 2nd or 3rd tranny (auto)

I was going to here soon. You get the diecast grill mount emblem and the satisfaction of knowing you have SUPER elite status in the Cummins high mileage club
Almost too good for this forum anymore....
For me, I can only get one emblem as I am only at 103k miles

Wonder if they make emblems you can stick to your butt. On second thought, that's not a good joke. "Hey hon, my 4,700,000 mile Cummins buttock badge arrived today"..... something is wrong with that. Would like to get her one though...he he he.
