High Durometer Engine Mounts

Anyone found better motor mounts for our trucks? I keep wasting the best factory design mounts I can get. They make them for later models, but I can't find any for a 1st gen.
Second option would be to build a torque strap out of multiple pieces of big, fat tow strap and bolt it to the frame and engine.
As it is my engine looks like a croc that has just bitten down on a wildebeest and is attempting a death roll!

I use these ~ polyurethane Dodge diesel engine mount

Because they are the Poly (stiff) type, they do transmit more of the engine noise to the truck. They do limit the engine twisting in the frame, at least more so than stock/OEM in my mess.

Thanks David.
I once had solid mounts in a 'Cuda!
My truck is so loud in the cab as it is I can't hardly talk on the phone, so what's a few more DB's!

How much do they limit the movements? Almost none?

Sorry, not very eloquent. Hate it when I am inarticulate. I meant does it limit the movement to very little?

Yes.

In my mess, I've retained the stock/OEM transmission mount thinking I didn't want to connect the engine completely rigid to the frame (for what poly's worth) thinking it could put stresses in the block needlessly (if it could).

But, yes, they are MUCH firmer than stock/OEM.

Hope this helps.

What OEM style mounts have you been using? The Anchor mounts are supposed to be good. That's what I have in the crewcab.

I think I have Anchors on there now. I eventually rip the rubber and bend the metal. Takes about two years to ruin a set.
