engine mounts

Repost from other forum--(no response) -Ok other than the obvious how do you tell if one of the motor mounts is bad on the 24V truck? How do you check this? I have 217K on it now and wonder if some of the low frequency vibes I feel when I ride over semi bumpy areas of the road may be attributed to the mounts?

Any ideas other than the vague manual on changing out also...?

Thanks!

Fish,

When my mount(s) bought the farm, I was able to put the truck in gear (auto), stand on the brake, and build about ten pounds boost. While doing so, I could see the engine lift and lean to the passengers side by a good inch or two.

I have no clue as to how similar a 1st Gen and later trucks are but for what it's worth, here's how I replaced them in my heap ~ https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=158316

If anything, it'll give you an idea as to what you're in for.

Hope this helps.
