HELP!! Suspension Question

I just put a brand new set of coil springs on the front from O'Rielly Auto Parts. I noticed that the truck lifted up quite a bit and now looks like a 4wd, especially with my wide mud tires on the back and street tires up front. I was wondering 1. will the springs settle back down some, I'm putting on a heavy front bumper and want the front to be lower than the back obviously. and 2. why does my truck lean towards the driver's side. I measured the front and back of the truck and it seems the entire body leans to the driver side almost an inch or more. just getting really frustrated that my truck won't look the way i want it.

Yes, they will settle a little after a few months.

The lean is probably your rear springs.

the lean might be one of the front springs. did they settle right? i dont know how these 2wds are set up but some springs arent flat at the ends. you have to get the end of the spring to sit in a groove made for it. that would explain one side sitting higher/lower then the other

well the leaf springs appear to be ok, i noticed a little bit of a lean before the coil spring change, but nothing this major. i'm really hoping that it is the coil spring not seating right, but if the spring wasn't seated right, wouldn't i feel something different when i was driving?? wouldn't it ride different etc. i'm just really worried about it because i don't want to change my wheel/tire combo

where the coil ends usualy on the bottom of the spring should have a little pocket or grouve toward the wheel. If they have the coil end on one side facing inward and the other side facing outward then you will get alot of lean. I learned this working on alot of road race cars where we swapped coils out or cut part of the coils.

i checked under my truck and saw the grove that they ride in, it appears that the end of the spring is sitting where it is suppose to be in the groove. also the driver and passenger side ends are opposite of each other on the base that is notched out....i'm at a loss for words....i have no ideas unless they did something at the shop...who knows

There was a tsb for the lean on early 2wd trucks. It consisted of two of those cheap coil spring boosters you "screw" in.

The lean is from the combination of:

1.) Battery

2.) Fuel Tank

3.) The fat guy in the driver's seat!

Yeah mine has always leaned to the left front ever since i've had it. I don't let it bother me. You can't see it from the drivers seat

true you can't see it from the driver's seat, but it looks like crap with the wheels and tires i have on it and that does bother me, guess i'll just put the old springs back on, at least it looked better than it does now
