Question Help me find my last steering gremlin

Ok, so i've used the pucky out of this board to gather knowledge for gettting my 93 w350 back on her feet. Started out with a full brake job, cause as we all know theres no point going if you can't stop. So from there, being a stone mason, i continued working on my foundation (steering and suspension) heres the list:

NEW
Redhead Steering box (sweet)
Borgeson shaft (PO put this on)
Cardone PS Pump
PS lines
PS inline filter
drag link (moog)
Tie rod ends (moog)
Bearings/Races/Seals (F&R Timken)
Front leaves (SDtruck springs)
Upper Kingpin bushings and springs (ORD)
Shocks (F&R Bilstein)
Sway bar end links (moog)
Sway bar bushings (prothane, greasable)
Pacbrake rear airbags
DynaBeads (in the mail)

So, everything i've done has drastically improved my ride and steering. And i mean drastically, i can steer with my knee now. But here is the issue, when i turn full to the left my steering returns to center, my wheel is centered and i travel straight down the road. However when i turn right, and it doesn't seem to need full lock, my steering returns to center, my truck goes straight down the road and my steering wheel sits just a few degrees off center to the right?!?!?!?!?!? I'm going nuts trying to find it. At first I thought my axle was shifting but i've tightened the crap out of my u-bolts and can't see any movement there. I still need to find a Ramcharger frame brace but i can't see how that would be my issue right here. My box does still flex maybe 1/8-1/4" up and down when i turn the wheels sitting still and my driver side front spring eye shifts about an 1/8" or less but i figure thats just normal flex in this overweighted suspension? When i did the steering gear i did find my box mount to be cracked as expected and i welded that up and added a few (IMHO) key gussets with 3/8" steel. No frame cracks! Few other things, I found my main steering column shaft had slipped out about 6" bought lost steering. Rammed that back up there with a 2X4 and persuasion and tack welded the borgeson. Also the kingpins took away the rest of dog trotting that the truck would do when it hit a deviation. Probably need to do lowers soon. Then found that my T-case cross member was missing two rivets and was allowing the engine and tranny to shudder on takeoff, fixed that. Finally I did a diff fluid change and I HAVE LSD WOOOOOOOOOO!! and she's in good shape. So theres a run down and i'm hoping maybe some of you have experienced something similar and will chime in.

TIA

Your steerng box should not move at all. Maybe the bracket broke again or the torque on the bolts isn't adequate. I don't have the numbers handy, but those bolts require pretty high torque. I'll check the fsm in a while for exact numbers...Mark

Yeah I'm aware of the high torque 165 frame to bracket 130 bracket to gear. Even managed to get the third bracket to frame bolt everyone seems to have issue with (i'm a big boy). My assumption is this movement is due to the lack of the additional frame brace. It is the bracket itself that seems to be flexing when to box moves and it's not as drastic as a 1/4" after i looked at is again but you can see it move relative to the inner fender, deffinantly not cracked again. I've taken measures off the frame and spring hangers in various places back to the axle tubes and everything seems straight there.

I don't know if it would cause your issue, but 1 of the stop bolts that limit steering travel is broken and it allows the wheels to turn too far. This seems to cause me issues with the front u-joint when I am in 4 wheel drive, it kind of binds over itself when I am turning sharply...Mark

I actually just replaced and adjusted my steering stops as they were way out of whack and making contact while i still had over a half turn in the gear box. I believe that may be where my extra stress was coming from. Found that because I went the distance and took it to a shop..... where they proceeded to strip both the centerlink lock collar bolts for adjusting toe, and heres my favorite part, they set my toe at 1/2" and didn't bother to tell me about the bolts or replace them. So after screaming at the manager and getting my money back i got to spend the rest of the day doing it myself, which of course i was trying to avoid. See what you get Ray.... can't have nothin'. Check that my Dynabeads did show up.... lets go see how she drives.
