HELP FAST!!!! Injector pump leaking!!!

My grandma is in the hospital and my dad is down, and his injector pump is leaking out the vent. I pulled the top cover off and the fuel pin out and its full of fuel in there. There should never be fuel in there right? What could cause this and how do I fix it tonight? We have alot of driving to do and I dont feel good with leaking fuel.

The diaphram is in good shape and the top side of it was clean and dry if that helps any.

I believe there is an o-ring in there to replace. Find an authorized Bosch Service Shop and get a VE pump seal kit. P/N DGK-121, should be under $20.

You just have to pull the top cover off right, not pull the whole pump?

You'll have to pull the whole pump top, like you would for putting in a governor spring. I've never done the o-ring, but from what I gather, it's not a real quick job. I don't think it'll hurt anything (other than fuel mileage) to drive it with the leak if you have to.

you dont have to pull the whole pump to change the gov spring, just take the top piece off, that only takes an hour.

No not the whole pump, just the top. Here is a good article for it. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=153154

thanks!!! I found a VE dealer in houston and will call them tomorrow. I'll see if they have a 366 spring while I'm at it, since I'll be in there anyway. lol

If you live in Georgetown, there is a Bosch dealer in Austin. I bought a gasket kit from them recently. austinfuelinjection.net

That's what I meant. It's a little confusing since there's the cap on the AFC housing and the cap that houses the governor spring and throttle lever.
