Help with a 89 D350

Ok, found a truck I used to own (inherited) and bought it back. 2 wheel dually with 360 and dump bed.

Rear brakes are shot. Went to pull the drums, and got so far as pulling the axle. No tool known to man (at least in my shop) was the right size to pull the spindle nut. Anybody got a good part number for that sucker? Local car parts guys all said "Huh"!

Also, someone has buggered the forcing cones for the axle pretty bad. No local supplier that I can find. Any ideas?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

On those spindle nuts, you can use a chisel or large screwdriver to tap them off usually .

The correct tool is a rounded corner 2 9/16" socket. Mine is an OTC tool one.

Thanks. I was leery of the chisel. First peck seemed to dig too deep. On the good side, I did get the ABS and Brake light to go out with an old fashioned adjusting spoon. At least they slow me down a little bit.

2 9/16. Got it. Thank you!

Your local NAPA should have one in stock. That's where I got my big spindle nut socket.
