Hello

Evening folks:

I guess I'm a "newbie" to this forum so I thought I would drop in and say "hello."

I have (from time to time) lurked here for info about troubleshooting some Gremlins on/in my 1st Gen 12-valve.

This site is a great source of info, and I have learned a good deal (thank you.)

My truck is called "Mad Max". I have just under 250-K with a little over 50-K burning WVO in a custom built 2-tank heated system (with no electronics to foul things up.) Periodically, I'll run a sample of used engine oil down to Blackstone Labs for analysis. The last time, I got a hand written note questioning the accuracy of my reported mileage on the odometer. They could not believe it! I use my equipment, but I also take care of it! It is definately a "road warrier" vehicle and people generally get out of my way when I'm running the Interstates in the hammer lane.

Drive it like you stole it!

If and when I set up a photo bucket account, I will try to upload some pics (I am not a computer guy at all.)

It is a beast of a truck, but it is all truck! Some old timers I know call these trucks "rough riders". They're not kidding!

I just finished a Dana 70 rebuild and install yesterday. I took Max down the road for a couple of hours today. I will double check all of my nuts and bolts tomorrow before I drive it again. All went well (for a change.)

Anyway, that's it for now.

Take care and Merry Christmas

Slate

I see you shoved a 12-valve into an 84 crew cab? Nice.

Check out Greasecar.com. This is where I did a lot of research.

I believe in K.I.S.S. (keep it simple stupid) and that is why I bought a 12-valve. No electronics except of the fuel selector valve, that's it!

It is easy to do once you get past the "fear factor".

The real PITA is collecting, filtering, and storing the oil.

Like anything else.........time and money!

Ciao

Aaaaaa-sooooooo! Thanks!

Just finished a 400 mile turn and burn trip up to my camp in order to trailer my quads home. I am happy to report that my newly rebuilt Dana 70 preformed very well. Anybody need any parts from my old Dana 70, let me know.

I was doing 80 in the hammer lane with a quad in the bed and my 12 foot V-nose trailer behind me while burning grease.

Its all good.

No troubles a all.

Whew!

Ciao
