Yeah i drove that thing to 7 eleven 2 miles away filled up 18 gallons. up the road to advance auto for a tow ball 1 mile. home 2 miles. back to advance 1 mile. then 8 miles on the road to new jersey, then powerloss city !!!!! almost felt like a timing belt in a gas engine. But i crank it now and the engine turns fine and free so its a fuel problem.

i had almost the same problem. cruising down the highway and the truck just died. turned out to be the electrical connecter to the solenoid on injection pump as G1625S said. I really had to mess with it before the problem was solved. I ended up having to sand the terminal on solenoid with emery cloth then change the female quick connect on the wire. The wire was not broken but corrosion on the two pieces was so great that no elecricity would flow. After fixing it I put some dialectric grease on it and its been good since.

This is a pic of the Fuel shut off and a fix for the wire to it. The slip-on connector tends to get filled with corrosion and the truck wont get fuel.
try checking this connector and if this ISNT the problem, then change your fuel filter.

Smell the fuel. Stations have been known to goof, and your description sounds like gasonline in the tank.

An easy way to prevent that from happening again is to replace the slide-on connector with a ring connector as shown in the above photo......
