There is no production 5" to my knowledge. Try stansheaders.com for true 4". Look down on the 1st gen section, there was a thread about this same thing earlier this week. Welcome to DTR.

Fill us in a little more as to what you have done. 4" is more than enough for most of us on here.

To get 5" youd either have to cut the 2nd gen in a couple spots to fit, or just piece one together yourself, like 1stgen545 did.

i think it'd be more cut and measure a lot to make it fit espically if it is a 4x4 and you'd need a lot of time on your hands, i'd say go for stans full 4in best for our truck, and its as big as you'll ever need it, untill you go twins stud the head, aftermarket IP, etc. etc. 4 inch is well enuf!

I agree. More time would be spent fitting a 2nd gen than waiting for Stans to ship, get to you, and be installed.

Seems like every diesel pro shop around here offers a 5" kit for most makes of trucks, but they always say that the extra 1" in diameter is not cost effective and really doesn't make a difference, sorta like dual exhausts. Unless your running twins or extremely high horsepower, 4" is all that is required. There was an "exhaust chart" that was put out by Jannety Racing, who also is a vendor for both diesel and gas power products. It showed if you had horsepower from say 160-250, 3" to 3.5" (do not quote me on this...just an explanation of the chart) is sufficient for the exhaust.

Look at it this way...the shop owners for diesel performance...they usually only have 4", correct?

Second Gen exhausts are out of the box 'straight'

Our first gens have to bend and wiggle between the transfercase and the frame.

From the transfer back you wont have problems with a 2nd gen exhaust.

The downpipe wont work on the first gen either.
