Has anyone here ever outrun a LP piston lift pump?

At one time I ran the 3936320 low psi pump with stock lines and filter, it would suck down to zero. That's with 14mm and Scheid 6x16's. For a dyno run however, it still put down 443rwhp. Went to the A1000, 5/8" line, big filter, regulator and gained 7rwhp with no other changes.

I'm scared to rely on an electric pump only. But I admit I drooled over the A1000 when I looked it up.
I have a gasser sending unit with pump, and was kicking around the idea of running that with a regulator up to my piston pump. Don't know if I can find a regulator that can deal with the pressure of a gasser electric pump.

Well, sounds like I really need to get my fuel pressure gauge hooked up to really be sure.

Thats why i will have a spare electric, quick to swap out if there is problems with the first one and they can be found cheap.

I wouldn't buy an AD or a FASS. I'm not into paying that much for a pump just because somebody CNC'd a billet block that the pump sits in. Bottom line is, 500 bucks for a 15 psi fuel pump is insane, IMO. It's other "benefits" are debated in the 12v world.

Spend the dough on a big-dog A1000 and an Aeromotive regulator. Throw a NAPA 4772 head w/ a Cat 2 micron filter in front of it, and you're ready for any mod you could ever want.

I'm currently running a Walbro 392, with an Aeromotive bypass type regulator. 3/8"ID supply with a 1/2" return. Schide 6x.016 EDMs and a stock/OEM 12mm VE (cept for the usual stuff). At the top of a 12.81 quarter mile pass, it's down to 16psig or so. 440HP/1000ft/lbs (+/-)

That's insane power for a stock pump.
