Happy new year!

Well I stayed up till midnight here on the Left Coast to send this. I watched the Times Square countdown at 12:00 midnight Eastern time. No celebrations on TV here though.

Anyone have any New Years Resolutions? Mine is to stop sleeping in.

Now I'm going to bed.

Edwin

Resolutions?

Become an alcoholic
Start smoking after almost 51 years of not
Get really fat
Become more selfish

At least now I know I can fail to keep them relatively easily.

I don't make resolutions, I like being the only me in the universe. And Mark, guns are always on my "to-do" list.

Unfortunately I spent all my gun money on my truck.

I made the resolution to make no resolutions in around 1975. So far I am the most reliable resolution keeper in the universe. Sorry, I've told myself a million times to stop exaggerating ...Mark

My brother had one of those. He left all his guns to his grandson when he died. I had them all in my safe for a while though. It was purty for a wheel gun.

It's a nice gun. Mine is stainless and has a 7.5" barrel. It's heavy and accurate.

I am not a big gun guy,but I did get a brand new Henry .22 from a friend of mine. He had bought one for his grandson a couple of years ago and I had said something about the obvious quality of the rifle, so he bought me one. I, of course, didn't get him anything, That jerk is just trying to embarrass me . I also sleep on top of a model 1911 .45 acp, but that is only because it massages my neck at night ...Mark

I had a 1911 years ago in satin nickle finish. It got stolen though along with my 30-30 lever-action I inherited from my step dad. Now I have a Ruger P95DC in .45acp next to my bed. It's your basic point and shoot interface. One in the pipe always. The wife has a 9mm with the same interface and one in the pipe. We're not paranoid. It's called being prepared. You know. Like the boy scouts. Our neighbor 2 doors down had their 17 yo son shot dead on the street less than a year ago.

That .44 magnum Super Blackhawk in stainless is mighty purty!

Years ago, around 1985, I didn't own a gun. I was shopping one day in a local supermarket named smitties and I bought a Taurus 357, black with a 6 inch barrel, a loaf of bread and some other food. I knew nothing about firearms. About 2 or 3 weeks later, I was awakened by an intruder in my house, he was standing over the foot of my bed when I turned the light on. I had the 357 in my night stand, grabbed it and pointed it at him. It is kind of a long story, but I ended up not having to shoot the kid and I was glad for that. I was also very glad that I had the protection,it was a slight advantage . I went to work that day and told the guys the story and they said that they were going nominate me for armed citizen of the month in American Rifleman or another NRA publication. They never did, so I am still an unknown armed citizen ...Mark

It's a good thing you didn't shoot him. Nowadays if you don't have all the legal t's dotted and i's crossed they'll hang you up real good. Cops hate competition. Nobody is allowed to shoot people without punishment but them.

I keep seeing ads for a special kind of insurance for gun owners to cover legal and other costs in the case they shoot someone. It's probably a good idea.

Edwin
