Grid Heater

Hey all,

The rig has started to develop the problem of the grid heaters kicking in after the truck has been started (normal start cycle is fine...not needing GH). Note I'm in TX and morning temps around here have been 70+).

Anyone have this happen before? I'm thinking I should just disconnect the darn thing....is there a suggested method for disconnection?

Just unhook the small wires from the relays. Takes 10 seconds and you can reconect them just as fast if needed.

I gutted mine last winter. Never had a problem starting up at 35* in the hill country.

Mine grids been MIA for 2 winters here and she fires up with no hesitation.
Only thing I've noticed is the voltmeter doesn't drop when I'm starting

Sounds like the PCM is losing its mind.

So wanna do you think you'd suggest replacing the pcm? I'd rather fix something now then have it breakdown on me later.

I wouldn't jump straight to replacement. I'd clean the terminals in the plug very well first.
