Got my First Gen back
After a two year search I finally got my old truck back. Like an idiot I sold my truck when I was diagnosed with cancer five years ago and decided to travel and live in our motorhome to see the country. Well my health as well as my wife's forced us to return to a brick and morter home close to our doctors. I decided one way or another I was going to get my truck back, it just so happened that the guy who I sold it to had sold it again to a disabled Navy Veteran and his medical issues would no allow him to drive the five speed transmission. Just a stroke of luck and devine intervention allowed me to meet with him and work a trade of my Ford 4X4 automatic for my Dodge back. I feel like a kid in a candy store with the old first gen back in my driveway.

Is there any way I could have seen your truck out west in june of this year ?
I really think I walked around it at Clines Corners N.M., there was a lady with a dog in the truck thinking I was a creepy guy because I made 3 or 4 trips around it.

rlyons! I can echo parts of your story. I got the big "C" diagnosis three years ago. I immediately tried to sell the wife, which did not goo over too well. I blamed it on my chemo brain which is fail safe get out of jail card. I am in remission with a very good prognosis for the future. If I could have any of my previous trucks back it would be my 1978 Ford Bronco. Gawd I spent a ton of money on that truck, she was really, really purty.
Enjoy your re-found truck and best of luck to you and your wife in dealing with your health matters.
Cheers!

Glad you were able to find it. My cancer story is kind of the opposite. I bought mine a few weeks after my diagnosis of CA. I borrowed the cash from a friend as I didn't have it at the time because I had run out of sick leave and had gone without a paycheck for a few pay cycles. I used a cancer benefit paycheck to pay back my friend a few weeks later. I am in remission and hope the same for you. Enjoy the ride ...Mark

That would have been me. We drove it to Oregon from here in Florida to pick up our 67 Mustang. We stopped at Clines Corners on the way and also on the way back. I did get it repainted since then because the guy I sold it to scraped one side and let the paint get pretty faded.
