Remove the two screws that hold it in.
Turn the latch 90 degrees counter-clockwise.
You will see a rectangular hole in the lock case body on the edge closest to the door.
In the leading edge of the hole,(closest to the glovebox door) there is a spring loaded tab that retains the lock cylinder. The tab is silver in color, and is up against the wall of the hole. Dont push on any of the brass colored tabs, those are the tumblers, they wont help you here! Anyway, push it in with a very small screwdriver or pick, and the cylinder should fall out... assuming the lock cylinder is in the "unlocked" position to start with.
I remember doing this at the dealer when these things were new. The factory service manual says "remove two screws and remove lock cylinder" but doesn't explain the trick to doing so....
On a side note... Once you have the cylinder out, slide your key into it. If any of the tumblers sit flush with the body, keep them in and remove those that dont. This will allow your key to function in that cylinder.
These instructions are for a double sided key type lock cylinder. If you have the earlier style key, this may not help you.

Mark the tumblers that are correct with the key in.
Remove the key from the cylinder.
Push the ones that you dont need out. Push them out in the direction that the springs are pushing them. In other words, the side you see the spring hole, is the side that the tumbler will come out of.They hold themselves in with a slight interference fit.
Another way of doing it is to put the key in the cylinder and then file all the tumblers down to the shape of the barrel. You will need to clean it thoroughly though.
