Glove box lock cylinder
Glove box lock cylinder
My glove box lock cylinder cover, the black part, just spins and won't open the glove box. I searched and found the thread on how to remove it, I removed the 2 screws, rotated it 90 degrees ccw, pressed on the tab that I can see in the rectangular hole and bumkis. It won't free up. Am I missing something or is it because it's been in there for 24 years. I have the key and if I use it, everything works fine, but if I don't, it just spins and won't open. Any ideas? I spent 2 hours on it, without result. For now, I am just going to use the key...Mark
It's finicky, keep turning back and forth while pushing the tab until it popspops off. Many years of mopars will working if you have a junkyard close by.
Mines off a early 80's New Yorker (wanted the chrome ****) hardest part was rekeying it

Thanks, I suspected that. We have lots of junkyards, but they don't really keep anything older than 10 years. I'll try Deer Valley, it's the one that has the cable show. If they have nothing, it's on to hidden valley, a 100 mile round trip. Thanks for the help...Mark
Thanks. I am going to wait till I get back to deal with it. I'll let you know. Let me know when you are coming back next time, maybe we can meet up. Do you have relatives in Glendale?...Mark
