Question Getrag upgrades

Have anyone come up of found anything that would improve this tranny for heavier loads? I've read many swap to different tranny but I'm not impressed by the nv's trannys Dodge used for the later generations of cummins and switching to a medium duty well that would be great but before I do that I'd like to see if there is something could be done to this tranny since swapping a MD tranny would be as much or more work than redesigning/upgrading the getrag.
So, any takers .

I've never heard of any Getrag upgrades other than overfilling with synthetic motor oil. Don't tow heavy in OD. Making/getting some kind of trans cooler would not hurt either.

Thank You, I already know this tips, I'm referring to actual upgrades that someone have done to their g360 I know there are no upgrades available at any transmission shop that I know of but as I said the amount of work and money involved in swapping a medium duty transmission is quite a lot and if I'm not mistaken there are a few very knowledgeable folks here that may have an answer to this question and thought it is worth asking.

The only real downfall of these trannys are the small countershaft bearings. If you could bore the case out so that you could use bigger bearings it would be the best upgrade you could ever do. Almost all the other parts of the G360 are already bigger than the NV4500, only the small countershaft bearings keep it from reaching its full potential. I have a junk G360 case that spun a front countershaft bearing that I was going to try and machine out for larger bearings but have never got around to it. I'll have to pull it out when I get done with all my other projects and see what I can do. It might be a few months, but I will post on here if I can make something work.

I read someone saying this same thing some time ago or maybe I was searching through threads and found it but if this is all that is needed I would volunteer My g360 and do it. Are there any part #'s or website I can start looking at to find the right bearing size?

Thank You.

I posted some time ago that I was thinking about trying to upgrade the countershaft bearings on my G360, so that may be what people saw. I never found a G360 to experiment on that I thought was a good deal so I did a stock rebuild.

The trick to putting bigger bearings in appears to be whether there is enough beef in the casting to support them and/or figuring a way to assemble the trans with bigger bearings.

If anyone has a line on a trans core in the $500 range let me know. If anyone wants to compare ideas, drop me a line at :
