getrag shifter

oh lord this has to sound dumb but how in the heck do you put the shifter together i have the shift fork bushing thingy and a (c) clip that need to go in right what order do they go in (i took this thing apart a month ago) i got it all in the truck and now spent the last hour trying to get this thing in there.....grrr

oh its a 90 if that helps

I f you arent already, you need to compress the shifter down onto the spring below it in the shifter-houseing in order to get the c-clip in.. its easiest with two people, but one can do it if your limber....

so the order is shift fork then the bushing i guess that is what it would be goes on top of the ball on the fork push down and tapin with hammer? i cant get the bushing thing down low enough to get the clip in......

OMG 11.4 with a 5spd ?? 537Hp? you got a p-pump motor in that thing?? dang thats fast.

yup its all a custom drag rig tube frame short bed standard cab no p pump the VE has alot of poop to it running a fass with a 1/2 in feeder line and a constant 14psi fule press ported head knifed 7lbs off crank performance cam 90lb springs billet retainers & keepers fluid damper ddp Competitor Series Injectors ats tranny cooler stage 4 W/M Water 2 air I/C twins turning 4200 rpm and i just got the trany back from the shop along with an $2500 bill but they guarantee that it will hold up to 650 hp so its worth it but i cant get this shifter in

I needed 2 people and it was still hard to get in there. The shifter lever needs to be pressed down all the way against the spring to get the clip on...Mark

x2, i'd love to see some vids and pics of the truck. 11's in a 5spd first gen... thats definely a record. maybe even a record in a 5spd cummins EVER

um no not yet i just got it done and made a dyno run and 5 passes down the 1/4 in the 16 of january then had trouble got it all back together now (yes allmost a year later)(hey iam slow) and the next runs are jan 22 but i know the guys at the track so we will see if i can sneak out in a coupple weeks and i will get some vids and pics when i go back down there
