getrag doesnt like to go into 1st??
getrag doesnt like to go into 1st??
well, ive replaced the auto in my truck w/ the getrag. Truck runs and drives....put about 3 miles on it....no bed (screams pull me over).
The trans does not like to go into first gear. it always wants to go into third, even though i am physically putting ther shifter where it needs to be. It has an easier time getting into second, and will usually go from 2nd to 1st that way, but i have to push the stick harder than i think i should. Ive already tried taking off a few times in 3rd, thinking it was in 1st. Thats good for the clutch right?
Anyone got any ideas? On a side note...my shifter does not look like everyone else's who has a picture of it. Mine is not straight. It comes out of the trans, stays straight, and then 8" or so from where the shifterknob would mount, it angles up towards the dash, maybe 25-30 degrees...i dunno

well someone dun bent ur rod!
Did you install a new bronze bushing in ur flywheel
or did you machine out the flywheel and press in the ball bearing? If there is any friction in there, what will happen is the input shaft will always want to spin with the flywheel. making it hard on the synchros to slow the input shaft down in 1st, but easier in the higher gears because you have more of a mechanical advantage the higher the gear.
