Getrag auxilory cooling question

So if a guy wanted the the extra insurance aside from a bolt on oil cooler and the typical overfill, and seriously considered adding an oil reservoir and circulating pump to his getrag, where would the ideal location be to tap into the ole getrag?

Woud be easy enough to tap into the oil cooler and just circulate the oil, but am thinking the output from the pump should be directed close to the input bearing as well as 5th gear, so potentially T off from the pump outlet to front and back of the getrag. Are there any ideal places to tap? Have not had the top cover off the tranny before so can't picture the best spot to put it. Not too keen on tapping into the core either.

Will have the tranny out and infront of me soon, thought id see what insights anyone may share on the topic first though.

Cheers

Found a couple pictures online showing what kind of space I have to work with. Seems like I could drill into the top near the edge of the cover front and back, and put a 90 pointing at the input bearing on the underside of the cover, as well as one pointing at the output bearing and 5th.

Thoughts?

I have had good luck with the simple and easy to install PTO cooler plates on my Getrags.

Just thinking a little added insurance would be nice. Can only run one cooler plate since the other side will have a pto.

Having the one finned cooler on the one side, and a PTO on the other should net you at least an extra quart of fluid, then with the over fill of the getrag to protect the input bearing you should have over 2 quarts extra fluid, and a cooler to boot.....think you'll be OK.

I put one of those PTO cover oil filter set-ups on my NV4500 and that netted me an extra quart of fluid in the tranny.

Ok ok, will go with the majority on this one.

Truck is going to see some weight behind it, just want to be sure this getrag is going to behave.

Where abouts are you all tapping in for temp gauge?
