trans cooling..cooling..cooling....wth

So finally got the power steering bled. got the radiator flushed and trucks starts up and sounds good. was backing it down the drive to finally take it for a test drive and found a pretty good oil leak coming from one of the transmission cooler lines.

So back in the driveway she goes to find the leak. Looks like a line is cracked likely from the rattle of a cummins in a chevy. Which leads to my question.

This truck has what looks like a heat exchanger under the exhaust manifold on the right side of the motor. with trans lines going into this, and a small trans cooler in the front of the truck, looks more like it used to be a power steering cooler, and then lastly a 3rd trans cooler under the bed with an electric fan attached to it. Looks like it has a temp switch on this one.

Im feeling like thats way overkill and over complex. Any reason why I wouldnt get rid of at least 1 of these (thinking the one in front of truck where the failed lines are for now. and possibly the heat exchanger in favor of just 1 cooler?

So this is in a chevy then? If it was in a stock Dodge with an automatic this is what I'd say:
The heat exchanger under the exhaust manifold warms up the tranny oil and also offers some cooling too I guess.
There is a cooler up front with the radiator too, no clue about yours since it's a transplant with no description or pictures.
Dodge offered an underbed cooler as a dealer option. It was behind the driver and before the rear wheelwell and had a temp switch.
If you tow much and respect your tranny you'll appreciate all the cooling.
Pictures and/or a signature would speak volumes.

Here is what you are looking at,

I would keep it if all possible, if the cooler is leaking, I know where to get a new one.

When you replace the hoses, use TOC hose, I bought it from O'Reillys.

So I appear to have a cracked line. will replace it. just looks like freking lines everywhere under this truck. trying to clean it up and make it problem free.

the front cooler is a very small one about 6"x14" cooler. the lines are using an assortment of hard lines and rubber hoses. I feel like I need to at least clean it up and move this stuff. some of it is attached and some of it is kind of hanging under it.

I will keep the heat exchanger and under bed cooler for now and bi pass the front one. AT this point I am just trying to get her driving so i can work on i am sure more kinks.

KRB yes its a 93 chevy diesel truck with a cummins transplant. I will post pics once i can get them uploaded here.

its kinda a bastardized install but i wanted a fun to work on project. (my wife did not! lol)
