Towed wth Edge

Towed for the first time with my new Edge on setting 2. I towed a 13,200lb 5er with a pin of 2700lbs. The boost will go above 30lbs but I tried to keep it below 25-26lbs on hills. I made a 550 mile trip, about half freeway and moderate hills. Driving by the boost kept my egt below 700, easily (post turbo). The truck pulled hard and the only concern on the setting 2 was the high boost delivered by the elbow. Anyone else using higher settings for heavy towing??

Boost up to 32-34 is max for your turbo. You can get an adjustable boost elbow if you are reaching to high of boost under you conditions. Piers sells one.

Please switch your egt probe to pre turbo now that you are using a fueling box. then you can drive by that gauge too!

I towed about 11,000lb on level 5 a few weeks ago with no problems at all. I didn't have any mountains but did hit a couple long hills and my EGTs never went above 1000 degrees. Now, today I was hauling about 6000lb and was cruising with the OD off at 45 mph and stomped it to pass a slow dump truck and the truck really moved but when I glanced at the guage it had made it's way up to about 1200 degrees. If you take it easy you will be fine. By the way, my SO w/ boost elbow never goes above 30 psi........

30 psi is nothing.

I run mine level 4 all the time, have towed up to 28,000# (thats trailer weight). Max boost I have seen is 37.8, will hit 36 pretty easy while towing. Unless you really get the rpm up the EGT stays below about 1175 pretty easy.

Vehicles aren't unsafe, drivers are. If you respect what you are driving it can be done. I am not recomending that everyone go out and do it, some people shouldn't even be driving a 2500# car the way they drive.

Hello
We have an EZ set on level 4 on our 04 3500 and when pulling the 31 foot 5er up to Dover, Del. a while back. I can get the boost up to 35/36 psi and that's getting on it hard. When pulling a hill or coming out of the tunnels on the Chesapke Bay bridge/tunnel I had about 20/25. Pulling down the road it runs 10/12 psi.
EGT running the road is 800/900 pulling 5er. Empty roughly 600. Getting on it hard it will shoot up to 1200/1300 no problem.

I ran -6 fuel line from the lift pump to the filter and the cp3 pump I "T"ed in a fuel psi gauge and at idle I see 8 psi pulling hard it drops down to 3/4 psi.

There are lots of things going on under the hood when your scooting down the road. I am so used to keeping an eye on the gauges in our 01 that It drove me crazy to drive the 04 without gauges.
Just my 2 cents worth.
See Ya
Chris
