I have one, and when you shift it into over drive, yes it take a SEC to engage.
When you disengage the unit.......it is INSTAND!

If you had one with a auto, and you were, say....racing it, you would want to hit the over drive ahead of your wanted shift.

Mine is a manual tranny and when i go into over drive. I flip the Over Drive Switch, then push the clutch in, and then back out.....................thats about how much lag, or time it take to shift into Over Drive.

Gvod

also to point out, manual trans recomended gear oil shifts hard and quick synthetic gear oil for autos, shifts smoother, during automatic gear changes

My brother had one on his 93 5.9... the faster you were going the faster it was to shift, shifting at 65 mph was very quick, but going into 3rd over or 2nd over was much slower.
