Gear shift indicator?

I know I asked this awhile back but I cant find the replies I got so here goes again,my indicator needle on my my gear shift is not moving when I put the truck in gear ,is this usually something completley broken or just something that has come loose?

Most of the time its just that something came off. If you take out your cluster bezel so that you can see the cluster itself and look just below the indicator there should be a small metal bare wire. This wire goes down and hooks onto a clip that attach's to the part of the column that moves with the shifter itself.
