gear ratio rumor true? 3:08 in a 5 spd ?

gear ratio rumor true? 3:08 in a 5 spd ?

looking at a 89 w/a 5spd. havent seen truck yet . owner doesnt know ratio. he says truck does a 100mph easy. its bone stock. ive heard rumor some had the 3:08 ratio like the auto trucks in 89-90. is this true? hoping its 3:54 or 4:10. any info appreciated.

3.54 will get you to 100mph my ex father inlaw has a 92 bone stock and it will hit 100

Someone on here supposedly has one, but I think it was a factory special order. So I would say they exist, but are rare.

My 92 would hit 100 with 3.55 gears and 5 speed no problem. You'd be better off if it did not have the Dana 61. You are stuck with that ratio if it is.

Like said, The 3.55 will hit 100mph with the 366 spring. I have proof from a timeslip at the dragway.

o.k thanks. im hoping its a 60. dealt with 61 ,s before. i ,m pretty sure all 5spds had 60,s

My '93 5 speed with 3.54's would only go 89, and that was hard in the governor. Advanced the timing fuel, 100.

I had an 90 for a while that had 3.08s and the 5sp. It was a special order for the guy who bought it new and it was 4x4 3/4ton SRW.

Its not a bad setup. Little spacey between gears but cranks out great mileage.

There is 3.54 and 4.10's available for the 61.
