On The List

Well I called today and got my name on the waiting list, I can't believe the price! It's worth at least a try... Of course to me turbo noise is priceless.

The whistle has a different sound to it too. It's kind of deeper, like a big turbo.

I don't mean to hack in, but I am curious as to what mm pinwheel the PDR hybrid HX35 compressor housing has. This is what I have on my W250 1993;is the kit you got basically doing the same as mine(the hybrid from PDR uses a 16cm NWG exhaust housing) or more of an improvement? I was always curious about this in other related treads on the subject of pinwheel sizes. Again, sorry to hack in.

Is this a better upgrade than an HTB, a Garret stage 2, or an S300 that would have a 60mm compressor wheel?

No. The turbos you mentioned have a larger turbine and can flow more exhaust out of the engine, lowering drive pressure and allowing more air to flow into the engine.

Not to mention better shafts and bearings. They'll handle the drive pressure alot better than the small holsets.

I am assuming now then that my hybrid from PDR doesn't come with the 60 mm pinwheeel, so my question is will a 60 mm wheel work on my hybrid HX 35??

I assume that you can get a compressor wheel upgrade kit for the HX35. When I started looking around for my compressor upgrade everyone also carried one for the 2nd gen Hx35's. Do some checking I'm sure you can find something.

The PDR HX35 has a 58mm wheel; the difference between the 60 and the 58 is probably not worth what it would cost you.
