Gauges installed!!!

I've finally installed my 2 primary gauges, my Turbo and EGT.

I have some pictures up on webshot while the ones here are being approved.

Gauges:
Piller Pod... made to fit

Another: different angle

The tranny gauge is next, but I still need to research some good place to put it.

It was pretty easy overall. The boost was a snap and the EGT was manageable. I couldn't have done it without looking at everyones pics though. My AutoMeter instructions didn't say anything about drilling into the manifold and tapping

Probe Installed

I took her for a run, and my numbers looked like this:

20 mph - Boost 0; EGT 400

WOT

40 mph - Boost 15; EGT climbing to 900

continued WOT

60 mph - Boost drops to 10 between gears and climbs back to 15; EGT 1000

continued WOT

80 mph - Boost begins to drop as I slow down; EGT 1100

The EGT bounces around more than I expected. As I let off the throttle at 70 mph she settles to around 900. In the city, she'll hover around 800 and at stop she will settle to 400. That kinda suprised me, but I guess it makes sense. I was expecting more constant numbers.

Do I have room to turn the fuel pump up? I expect I will get more EGT, but how much more with each turn of the pump?

Man, I'm ready for more power!!!

Yup....1200*F (allow 50'ish *F for guage error) all day...if you run at the max duty cycle of 1200*F you need to keep an eye on the water temps....after a while all that iron and rad start to get "heat saturated" and eventually the rad starts to loose ground...then, you just gotta ease up.
Cummins runs these things at max load/max throttle holding a sustained 1200*F for hundreds of hours to test them. They just keep feeding it fuel and finally they tear it down and go looking for foobar's....
