gauges and hx-35

So I installed my Isspro boost and pyro and my hx-35. I left the waste gate off, and I can get it to 28lbs of boost before 1100 degrees. (on an intercooled truck without an intercooler!) I have a slight puff of smoke on the low end, but nothing on the top end. What's next? I was hoping this turbo would help my mileage. I have a K&N filter, should I re-do the box and hose? 4" exhaust? Timing? I am looking for the most power for fuel, if that makes sense. Any suggestions are appreciated. My goal is 22mpg!

Bump the timing and use the smoke screw to tune the puff out of the bottom end if you are looking for mileage.

Is this truck we're talking about a 5 speed or auto?

It's a 5-speed. I thought I had that in my sig, but I guess I need to change it.

pre turbo. my i/c blew up, and was replaced with a piece of exhaust pipe. My dad was driving it at the time, and couldn't afford a replacement. There is really no need for it. I think i will install a water to air soon though.

water to air isn't good for on the street, short runs like drags or pulls only. you should get a 2nd gen powerstroke intercooler. you get the flares on yet?
