Fuel shut off

93 W350 single wheel,CTD,5spd yada yada. Got a new fuel shut off switch or whatever the proper term is for it. Just had put that on and drove it,come back and shut the key off and it stayed running still. Clutched it to kill it and tried to reverse the wires and I don't think that fixed it either(thought might of mixed them up with the new part. Could it be that the connecters are just old as can be and need replaced or ??? I know it's gotta be something small but just having to kill it with the clutch just will get old,not including the hurt it puts on the clutch afterwhile

you try pulling the wire off ? if it remains running theres a prob with fuel solinoid, it needs voltage to run.

It could be that the tip came off. It usually happens with trucks that are flowing more fuel than stock. You can shut the engine off with the manual lever on the side of the pump. Heres a pic showing the lever, outlined in red. Just pull back on it to shut the truck off: .

There is two wires running to this thing correct? If I just pull one off then it should kill it correct? It don't really bother me right now but I don't want to have to kill it with the clutch every time or reach under the hood and pull the lever back to kill it

You only pull one if its the right one. I think that only one actually has power to it but I don't know which one.

You must have tore the tip off the new one. When I replaced mine, I chucked the plunger in a drill and sanded the end of it flat, then put a nice radius on the edge. I stretched the spring a couple coils worth and put 'er together. So far it's been shutting off for a month.
