I was able to get mine cleaned up pretty well by just wire brushing the threads real good and chasing it with the lock nut. Sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

Mine have cleaned up the same way. I have an extra one at home I can measure if someone else doesn't know by the time I get home.

i am just guessing 6x1.00 metric, take one of the locknuts to the hardware store to find out, come to think of it i think 6x1.00 may be too large

Unfortunatly even the wire wheel and locknut wont clean up those threads. They REALLY smashed em up good. I think I may have a die for it, I was freezing last night when i was working on it. Im going to take my time today. I was hoping I got enough out of it to go a few more turns but it stopped dead in its tracks. i know my 3/8 was a little too small, im thinking 7/16 but unsure. my metric set didnt look quite right, but who knows? I'll post back later n give some results.

You can also order a new screw from a Bosch shop such as Scheid Diesel or if you're lucky enough to have one locally. I don't recall the price though.
