Edwin, don't reinvent the wheel. Don't go cutting/tearing into something that ain't broke. Do get a tapped banjo bolt from Geno's. Yes it's 1/8npt tapped.
Rocky if those are the prices for the piston lift pump part numbers in the tech facts, then they are good prices. IIRC I gave about $150 for the pump only. Make sure its 3936320. Don't just ask for a lift pump for a 1st gen. Or just a piston lift pump. Also need two gaskets, for the spacer and two fuel line gaskets.
