Arrow fuel mileage with 4.10

I bought a 92 W350 with auto and 4.10 rear end can somebody give me an idea of what kind of fuel mileage I can expect? How often do you change filters on these diesels, oil and fuel and such?

You'll probably get around 15 average, if everything's right. My '91.5 w/4.10s and the 5sp got 18 average.

Lot of varyables on maintance , what quality of filters & fluids , how you use the truck , how the truck in equipt. , bypass filter ect.
I have the oil tested every other change to guide how often , and condition .
But a basic may be 5,000+ on oil & filter , and every other oil change , do the fuel filter .

I had a 91 with 4.10s that got 21-23hwy if I kept it around 60mph. Dropped to 19 if I went 70-72. Around town, I averaged 19-20. It really depends on what all you have, how you drive it, and other factors. I figure 4.10s cost you 2-3mpg.

Update: Mileage with 4.10s

Hand calc'd over the last 75 gallons, got 20.5mpg. That's with a 2" lift, and the 285 BFG/ATs, daily driving it to work at the rate of around 60-40 highway/city I'd guess, with a little light hauling and towing on several occasions over the past couple months. And of course, the periodic full throttle blast to show off once in awhile.

Looks like it's still gonna take about ten years for that Gear Vendors box to pay off, though. But on the the bright side, at least #2 diesel is now about $.30 less than regular gas at the local place I buy it nowadays.

Ace- is your 20.5 MPG with the GV in OD or direct? The GV in OD will give you an effective rear ratio of around 3.28, IIRC.

Yep, that sounds about right. I try to run in top gear/OD anytime I'm doing over about 50mph, which equates to ~1200rpm at that speed, with these tires, etc., etc..

I'm getting about 16mpg in the city during the summer and 18-19 on the highway. I did get 17.7mpg during the summer pulling the horse and trailer on the highway.

And I haven't changed the fuel filter yet since I bought it four years ago. That was at 207,000kms when I bought it and I just turned 283,000kms last week.
